Does it exist? A selfless good deed is a good deed that is selfless, you would say all good deeds are selfless. But if giving charity to the poor or helping the old man cross the road makes you feel good, it is selfish. Also, there’s always the expectation of gratitude. All good deeds can be seen to have a selfish undertone (even if you don’t do them for a particular thing..but we all like the warm glow we get from doing good deeds. Whether or not we are consciously aware that we do things for that feeling.I saw this idea or concept from f.r.i.e.n.d.s.- Season 5, Episode 4- The one where Phoebe hates PBS. It got me wondering if there truly is a selfless good deed. I asked my elder sister, and she gave the answer I was looking for- She said a deed will be selfless when your pain is more than your happiness, when your selflessness is more than your selfishness.
- Giving up something you really want so someone else can have it because you know it will make them happy.
- Telling someone you love to follow their heart…to someone else.
- Encouraging your very best friend in the world to move to another country because it’s something they really want, that will change their life–knowing you’ll probably never see them again.
- Putting up with an old friend with whom you no longer have much in common, for hours at a time, because you know they’re lonely–and you know it’s because they’ve become so obstreperous and opinionated that it’s hard to enjoy their company.

So, in the end I would say selfless good deeds do exist. And it is truly great thing to do.
